Most traffic pollution is caused by large motor vehicles that travel with only 1 or 2 passengers from the suburbs to the city, using vehicles with a capacity of 5 passengers. This causes big inefficiencies, every morning and right after working hours.
Carpooling is a slow process and not applicable to most people.
Most People prefer driving their cars to work because they have been used to it, and for convenience.
Even with new Hybrids, most people have to live with their Gasoline Powered Vehicles, because Hybrids are too expensive for now.
Proposal: Erect Vehicle Switching Terminals (VST) In Strategic points near the City and Reachable by most Suburban centers. All Cars Going towards the City must park in the VST For Vehicle switching to smaller, more eco-friendly vehicles.
